'Working Together: Co-operation between Government and Faith Communities (Home Office Faith Communities Unit, February 2004).

This report from a joint working group of faith representatives and civil servants presents a series of recommendations to government and faith communities on how they might more effectively rise to the challenge of working together. It recommends:
  • That government should recognise that capacity is a key issue and consider allocating resources to allow faith community bodies, which may lack infrastructure or resources, to participate fully in consultation.
  • That government at every level should pursue "faith literacy" and participate in internal faith awareness training.
  • That faith communities develop appropriate structures to maximise capacity to be an effective partner and to become involved in local structures and raise your profile by talking part in consultation.
