18th - 20th November: Children and Young People Inter-Faith Event
at St George's Church, Church Street, Hyde SK14 1JZ
Organised by the Tameside Standing Advisory Council on Religious
Education (SACRE) with the support of the St George's Church
and FaithsUnited (Tameside)
This Inter-Faith event for children and young people is
multi-dimensional. It is first and foremost an opportunity for the
children and young people of Tameside to share their learning,
understanding and perceptions on "Families and Faith".
They will be able to do this and contribute towards the richness
and diversity of the event in a variety of ways.
a) Contributing towards an exhibition of art, writing and artefacts
on the theme "Families and Faith". Some classes or groups
of young people may be prepared to send representatives to stand by
their exhibition display in order to answer questions as people see
the exhibition in the period between 6.00 pm and 6.45 pm on Friday
20th November. This is not a requirement, but is one way
in which the organisers are aiming to ensure there is some
dialogue.
b) Contributing towards a presentation at St George's Church.
This may be singing, dancing, role play/ drama, poetry, or
explanations/ short presentations and should be broadly on the
theme "Families and Faith".
c) Visit St George's Church and Exhibition during the school
day, 18th - 20th November.
d) Visit a Tameside Mosque, 18th - 20th
November.
